McAuliffe is carrying out the complex remediation of contaminated soil and re-engineering of soils to create a suitable development platform in a phased handover for the follow-on build.
Prior to these works, the 33-acre (13.3 ha) brownfield site at Cole Hall Lane in Shard End had sat undeveloped for more than 50 years.
The 298 unit Yardley Brook development is set to provide much needed new homes to the area, the majority of which will be affordable homes to rent.
The McAuliffe team broke ground on the project at the start of December 2024, and is expected to hand over the site by Spring 2026.
John McAuliffe, Group Managing Director at McAuliffe Group, said:
“It’s great to be working on another landmark scheme. Like other Birmingham projects we have worked on in recent years; Curzon Street HS2, One Eastside and Great Charles Street, this is bringing new investment into a brownfield site and more importantly much needed homes for Birmingham”.
