The team is up for Best Infrastructure Project and Best Urban Regeneration/Brownfield Scheme, with each shortlisted entry selected by industry experts. This year’s judges include senior representatives from Homes England and the Environment Agency.
McAuliffe carried out extensive remediation and enabling works on the city centre site, ready for construction of the new Birmingham Curzon Street station. The project client, a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and Murphy Group (LM-JV), commended the team for doing ‘an unbelievable job of raising standards on site.’
Winners will be announced at a virtual awards ceremony on the 14th October. This is the 17th year of the highly regarded awards, which celebrate outstanding achievement in the brownfield and contaminated land sector.
John McAuliffe, Group Managing Director at McAuliffe Group, said:
“HS2 is a project of huge national significance, and we’ve gained a massive amount from working at the heart of it.
“Both our team and LM-JV have had their noses to the grindstone throughout, making sure the programme stayed safe and on track during the pandemic. It’s good to see them getting the recognition they deserve.”
The shortlisting follows McAuliffe’s 2020 Brownfield Awards success, when they scooped two awards, including Best Application of Remediation Technologies.
