McAuliffe Kickstarter starts full-time role

18 Feb 2022

An apprentice who joined McAuliffe through the government's Kickstart Scheme has been offered a full-time role with the business.

Alfie, from Wolverhampton, will soon begin a Level 2 Waste Resources Operative Apprenticeship through McAuliffe. Splitting his time between site work and college classes, he’ll learn about the collection, transport, processing, disposal, and recycling of waste, as well as associated health and safety and environmental issues.

Before joining McAuliffe, Alfie struggled to find employment due to a lack of work experience. By spending time in the business’ onsite recycling centre, he’s been exposed to a broad range of site duties, all overseen by an expert team.

Anna-Maria McAuliffe, director and apprenticeships lead at McAuliffe Group, said:

“Over his 6-month Kickstarter placement, we’ve seen Alfie’s confidence blossom.

“His keenness to learn means he’s taken every opportunity given to him, and he is developing his skills quickly.

“We’re so pleased he’s staying on with us and has found an area of the business where he can build a career. He has a bright future ahead of him.”
